The Hyundai i40 is a futuristic looking tourer/estate, with Hyundai�s �fluidic� lines making it an eye-catching car to be seen in. Sweeping lines that are smoothly sculpted define the exterior; while inside there is lots of room for driver and passengers.
The new Hyundai i40 comes in three models, the Active, Style and Premium and has a good choice of engines for all three models.
The Active offers the choice of three engines, the 1.6 litre GDi Blue Drive petrol engine has six-speed manual transmission and there are two diesel engines, both 1.7 litre CRDi Blue Drive, with one putting out 115 PS and the other a more powerful 136 PS; both have six-speed manual transmissions. Combined Tn Pas Cher fuel economy for the petrol engine is a respectable 47.1 mpg, with the lower rated diesel racking up 65.7 mpg and the higher rated only a little less at 62.8 mpg.
There is a choice of four engines for the Style, a 1.6 litre GDi petrol and three diesels, a 1.7 Nike Tuned litre CRDi Blue Drive and 1.7 litre CRDi, both putting out 136 PS and a 1.7 CRDi that has six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift and sport mode. The other three Styles all have six-speed manual transmission. Combined fuel consumption for the petrol engine is 42.8 mpg, with the manual diesels achieving 55.4 mpg and the automatic coming in at 47.1 mpg.
Three engines feature for the Premium model, a powerful 2.0 GDi petrol engine with six-speed manual transmission and two diesels, both 1.7 litre with 136 PS; one with six-speed manual transmission and the other with six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift and sport mode. Combined fuel consumption is 39.4 mpg for the petrol engine and 55.4 mpg and 47.1 mpg, respectively, for the diesel manual and automatic.
Safety is taken care of by seven airbags, including one for the driver�s knees, while there are also supportive active restraints for the head for front seat occupants. Seatbelt reminder signals come on if belts are not fastened and the two outer seats in the back have ISOFIX child seat anchor points. Electronic Stability Programme, Anti-lock Brakes and Electronic Brake Force Distribution are all provided as standard.
A wide range of features come as standard, but additional options are available on the higher end models. They include front fog Nike Free Run lights, steering wheel audio controls, electric front and rear windows, electric heated door mirrors and Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition.
